Article Abstract

Inclusion and fairness of employees have shown to have an effect on the productivity of both public and private institutions. This study investigated the impact of e-governance on inclusivity and fairness in Kano State Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. Technology Acceptance Model was used as a theoretical guide and linear regression analysis was used for analyzing data collected from 246 respondents. The study found that e-governance positively influences inclusivity and fairness in Kano State Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and that e-governance initiatives in the ministry has helped support more inclusiveness and fairness through training programmes and equal opportunity for employees. It was further revealed that the presence of unequal access to digital tools limits the full participation of all employees in decision making processes. In line with this, the study recommended for the Ministry to strengthen its e-governance efforts by addressing the existing digital access gaps among staff as well as adopting more e-governance tools combined with none e-governance policies within the Ministry.
