Article Abstract

This study looked at staff retention intentions in Agro-Allied companies as well as human capital development. A cross-sectional survey was used in the study. A total of 119 Top, Middle, and Low level employees were selected from the six (6) Agro-Allied companies in Port Harcourt using a straightforward random sample technique. Using the statistical software for social science (SPSS) version 20.0, the Spearmen rank order correlation coefficient was the statistical instrument used. The results showed that at Agro-Allied companies, career growth, the workplace, and work-life balance have all benefited from performance management and training. The results led to the conclusion that employee intention to stay is significantly influenced by human capital development. According to the report, companies should continuously train their staff and make sure they take part in goal-setting because doing so will make it easier for them to adjust to change and stay in a complicated and uncertain environment.
