Article Abstract

Concerns regarding the possible health effects of radiofrequency (RF) field exposure have been raised in recent years due to the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure, such as wireless communication antennas and mobile phone base stations, especially for those who live close to these installations. The purpose of this work is to examine the body of research on the effects of radiofrequency field exposure on Ugandans who live close to mobile base stations. Specifically, the paper examined the health-related implications of RF exposure, considering both environmental and biological impacts. Drawing on current studies from various regions worldwide, the review assessed the level of RF exposure among individuals in different regional settings within Uganda. Furthermore, the paper explored RF effect reduction mechanisms and provide recommendations for mitigating potential risks. By raising awareness of these issues and offering practical recommendations, this paper seeks to inform public discourse and guide future planning and deployment of telecommunication networks in Uganda.
