Article Abstract

This study examines the social phobia and students’ academic performance, focusing on how social anxiety has influence the academic excellence of the students with symptoms manifest of poor class participation, difficulty in assignment presentation and poor self-confidence. The Data were collected 286 students of senior under Graduate of health Science, Hargeisa university,143 male and 143 females. Using both Qualitative and Quantitative techniques together a data, Data was collected from four months march 2022 and Jully 2022, The findings Reveals that students with social phobia have a poor academic performance in terms of Group discussions and exam Result. The study contributes to understanding how social phobia hindered students class activities and increased avoidance behavior. The study concluded that there is significant performance difference with socially anxious and non-socially anxious students. The study Recommended that university administrators should intensified efforts towards cognitive behavioral therapy and individualized mental health service, thought. Necessarily for immediate survival, has alleviating students’ distress and anxiety.
